Employee Q&A – Jayson Livingstone

Jayson Livingstone - Estimator

What is your position/title and how long have you been at the company?

I actually worked alongside NEIS Collective (NEIS) as a union apprentice on a project from 1995-1998. In 2000, I joined NEIS’ New England office as a Foreman. I held that role until 2012 when I became a Road Superintendent. In 2019, I began my current position as an Estimator.

What is your favorite part about your job?

The opportunity to learn and develop new techniques with current technology is one of my favorite aspects of my job. I also appreciate the flexibility to work from home.

What are some projects that have made you proud?

Some of my favorite projects include the work we did at Lowell High School and Logan International Airport. Any project we complete with as few roadblocks as possible will rank highly in my book.

What is something about your job that people might not be aware of?

I think people would be surprised by the amount of investigative work required for millwork projects. I handle 90-100% of the New England office’s millwork labor.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I have been racing remote-controlled cars for more than 30 years. At one point, I ranked around 26th in the country for 1/8th on-road. Locally, I race 1/8th off-road and indoor carpet classes. One of the best parts about this hobby is the opportunity to travel around the country and meet people from varying backgrounds in different states.
