Employee Q&A – Mark Conway

What is your position/title and how long have you been at the company?

I recently celebrated 24 years with NEIS Collective. In that time, I have worked as both a Divisional Manager and a Business Development Manager.

What is your favorite part about your job?

Closing projects with general contractors, construction managers, and owners is always rewarding, especially when we celebrate the achievement as a team.

What are some projects that have made you proud?

Some of my favorite projects include multiple Penn State University projects (over 15 and counting), Seneca Valley – Ehrman Crest Elementary, North Catholic High School, and State College High School.

What is something about your job that people might not be aware of?

I started the Pennsylvania office as a satellite office in 2000 at my home. For the first 12 years, we were primarily a two-person office with engineering and estimating support out of New York. Now our office is five people and growing. I worked for two casework manufacturers and one dealer before working for NEIS Collective.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I like golf, fishing, underwater basket weaving, Pittsburgh sports (Penguins, Steelers, Pirates, and the University of Pittsburgh), and Knights of Columbus charitable activities.

Do you have a favorite memory after many years with NEIS Collective?

In 2011, the Pennsylvania office had a team-building outing to Lake Erie with the office and carpenters for a charter fishing day. Another great memory is when we attended a Pittsburgh Pirates game as an office.

Any fun plans for retirement?

I plan to travel, golf, do charitable work, spend time with my family, and winter in Venice, Florida.
